With over three decades of leadership at the helm of Bishop Brady’s field hockey program, Coach Kelly Owen is a cornerstone of the school’s athletic tradition. A graduate of the University of Bridgeport, Coach Owen enters her 32nd season as the varsity head coach, bringing unmatched experience, competitive success, and a deep commitment to student-athlete development. ​ Before leading the Giants, she coached JV and served as a varsity assistant at Pembroke Academy. At Bishop Brady, her impact has extended well beyond the field hockey pitch, serving 10 seasons as a varsity assistant for girls basketball and nine seasons coaching both varsity and JV girls lacrosse. ​ Coach Owen has earned numerous accolades, including Division II Coach of the Year in 2013 and Division III Coach of the Year in both 2019 and 2024. Under her leadership, the Giants captured Division III State Championships in 2019 and 2020, with additional state runner-up finishes in 2021, 2022, and 2024. She has also represented New Hampshire as a Twin State Field Hockey Co-Coach in 2008, 2009, 2022, and 2024. Her dedication to student-athletes was further reflected in her two-term (6-year) service on the NHIAA Council. ​ Coach Owen’s philosophy centers on empowering her players to believe in themselves and to embrace the value of their role within the team and the larger program.
