The Bishop Brady Boys Ice Hockey team competes in NHIAA Division II through a cooperative program with Merrimack Valley High School. Together, our athletes form a tight-knit, hard-working unit that brings energy, toughness, and precision to every shift.
The program emphasizes accountability, teamwork, a strong work ethic and developing players who compete with confidence and character. Whether it's a midseason rivalry game or a playoff push, this team skates with purpose, pride, representing their schools with integrity and heart.

John Thomas
Head Coach
Varsity Boys Ice Hockey
John has been a lifelong hockey player. During his high school years, he played at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Massachusetts and graduated, cum laude, from Northeastern University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science. Upon graduation he was hired by the Concord New Hampshire Police Department and worked there for over 31 years, retiring in December of 2024. John was always active in the community. For several years John served on the Board of Directors for the Concord Youth Hockey Association. He has coached from Mites to Midgets, with the Concord Capitals since 2007. John completed the USA Hockey Coaching Level 4. While coaching at the Capitals some of John's teams captured State and Valley Hockey titles. In 2021, John was selected out of 800 nominations nationally to receive a “Stick Taps for Frontline Heroes Award” by the Boston Bruins in recognition of his positive impact in the community, for both on the job and on the ice. John has been the Head Coach of the Bishop Brady Varsity Hockey team for the last five years. John's experience on and off the ice has helped shape many players, preparing them for their future endeavors.

Coach Connor Beatty brings a strong collegiate playing background and a commitment to building a competitive, character-driven team culture to the Bishop Brady boys ice hockey program. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Endicott College, where he was a four-year starter for the NCAA Division III men’s ice hockey program. With experience competing at a high level, Coach Beatty brings valuable insight into skill development, game preparation, and the daily habits needed for sustained team success. His coaching philosophy centers on creating an environment that fosters growth, emphasizes commitment, leadership, and work ethic, and builds a true “family” atmosphere. He believes every athlete plays a vital role in both individual and team success, and he works to ensure players feel valued, supported, and accountable within the program.
